Why we need to collect information
As a provider of Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPC), we are required by our accreditation body to collect information about the property to be able to produce the EPC. The EPC is a legal document and all the information within it must be accurate with photographic or documentary evidence being collected to validate the data input. This information must be provided to the accreditation body should the EPC be called up for an audit.
The information we collect include:
• Your name and contact details
• The address at which the assessment is carried out.
• Photographic evidence obtained on visiting the property which relate to the existing lighting, heating, glazing and insulation, and property type.
How will it be used:
The data we collect is stored on computer and is password protected and is only accessible by authorised staff who are involved in producing the EPC or providing additional evidence if the assessment is called for audit.
Information collected to produce the EPC, such as the photos and documentary evidence is stored for a period of 15 years.
Who will this information be shared with:
The information we collect will be shared only with organisations involved in carrying out an EPC or funding and installing an energy saving measure. These organisations include the accreditation body that certifies us and provides the software for the EPC, the installation companies who may be carrying out your work recomended on the EPC, the managing agent of the grant funding and other companies used by any of these organisations to carry out quality audits.
Visiting our website
When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
